Oh hey, it’s been a while! I promise I won’t drag out the seemingly obligatory “I stopped blogging and here’s an explanation,” but I actually do have a reason.
I noticed that my blogging goals were interfering with my #adulting goals, and I made the executive decision to pull back on my internet presence for a bit. I wasn’t sure how long it would be, and it didn’t feel worthy of some grand announcement. Truthfully, I’m also wondering what will happen when content creators decide we just can’t create content every day/week/month… will hiatuses become normal?
But I digress. I’m happy to be back — I feel like I haven’t been creative for over two months!
Things are more stable in my life, and I’m happy to report that February was the best month for me in a long time. I’m working on taking the self-care steps I need to feel better mentally and physically. I’m putting effort toward my short-term and long-term goals. And I’m ready to come back and make stuff online again.
Spoiler: December’s Goals were a big fat NOPE. I can’t completely remember if I accomplished any of them in December (though some have been completed since then). So let’s start fresh instead of recapping like usual.
- Start my capsule wardrobe. I am SO excited to pare my closet down to 30-something pieces — and I never thought I would say that. I’ll be blogging and YouTube-ing my whole process, so keep an eye out for that! This goal requires a few planning steps, most of which I’ve already accomplished, but I also need to clear out a bunch of my closet, store clothes, and implement the capsule itself.
- Stick to my meal plans 80% of the time. I’m a little heavier than the weight range I am comfortable being (thanks, grad school!). I know I feel better when I follow the Meal Mentor meal plans (and all the hard parts are done for me) instead of eating vegan junk food.
- Stick to my cleaning routine 80% of the time. Yep, I am absolutely the type of person who needs a cleaning schedule. This is super basic stuff, like “do the dishes,” but I need an incentive to stick to it. Hopefully sharing this goal with all of you guys will help me keep with it!
- Create 5 pieces of content. So, either YouTube videos, Let’s Play videos on my new (!) channel, or blog posts.
So, there you have it. Four small goals for the month, all of which will help me take care of myself and my environment in some way.
