When I graduated in 2013, I was anxious to get my “real life” started. I was proud to have received my bachelor’s degree in 3 years, but mostly, I was ready for the next step. I wanted to delve into my field in graduate school, learn more with hands-on experience, and move to the city that makes my heart sing.
I didn’t expect graduate school to be one of the toughest experiences of my life. I’ve always been good at school, so I assumed grad school couldn’t possibly be much harder. I drastically underestimated how difficult the next two years would be. I am so grateful for my support system in my family, partner, and friends. Thank you for all your help these past two years — the late-night, life-affirming phone conversations, frequent coffee runs, and feedback on projects.
Suffice to say, I am so, so happy and proud I made it through. Finishing this program was a true accomplishment. I graduated with a job I love working with some of the greatest people I’ve had the privilege to meet. I’ve bonded with a cohort of hardworking, unique individuals in my program. I learned so, so much about not only business and digital media, but how to be a better version of myself. I’ve had the privilege to have some of the best professors as my mentors. And now, it’s time for the next chapter.
For this special occasion, I needed a special dress. Something classy, but dressy, and hopefully, something I could wear again in the future. Enter eShakti. They contacted me asking if I would review an item from them, and I jumped at the opportunity. eShakti offers custom women’s clothing, from skirts and dresses to tops and shorts, for a reasonable price. eShakti creates the designs, and then you can modify them to your heart’s content.
After browsing through the many, many offerings, I chose a Grace dress in black — I loved the classic shape, floral lace, and illusion top. I submitted a few measurements and the dress was made to my own shape. You can also add modifications, like changing the neckline, adding or removing pockets, or changing the length. I chose to change the sleeves from cap sleeves to elbow-length sleeves.
I was skeptical that the dress would fit without any in-person fittings, but it fit like a glove. All day, people asked me where I got the dress — “it fits you so well!” — and were surprised when I said it was literally made for me. Nothing makes you feel more special than a custom dress!
Overall, I absolutely adore my eShakti dress and I know they’ve made a loyal customer out of me. And if it’s your first time shopping with eShakti, you can currently get a $40 coupon for your first purchase.
Here’s to the next chapter!
